Walking Atop the Waves: A Lesson in Faith from Peter

Have you ever watched these incredible surfers on their boards taking on waves of gigantic proportions? Some of these waves can be up to four stories high, and be considered as powerful as a freight train. Some of these waves are so high that when a surfer gets pulled down it could take even up to three or four minutes to surface again. What separates the big surfers into a camp of their own is their ability to take a hold of their emotions, fears and anxieties and control them. They will perform their best in extreme situations when their focus is fine tuned.
What happened to Peter? He wanted so much to ride the waves. Or at least walk on them. But he needed to keep his focus on Yeshua. This would contain his fear. This will contain all our fears when we are trying to ride the high waves that come up against us like a freight train. Our responsibility is to be trained up in loyalty and dedication to God. We start out by depending on Yeshua, and we must finish the same way, keeping our eyes on Him, the Author and Finisher of our faith.
Be blessed as you listen to this week's sermon by guest speaker, Jefford J. Humes, "Walking atop the Waves: a Lesson in Faith from Peter". Shalom.
