While we are still in quarantine from going door to door, we continue to pray and be encouraged concerning the work that God has given us for this Kingdom march. Here is a testimony of another team member of the Knock and Talk outreach, recounting what this work has meant to her.

As Covid -19 still causes governments and health officials to query when we can return to a more “normal’ lifestyle, some things will go on as before, unstopped by the world’s anxieties; by the anxiety we feel because of the lack of assurance we are getting from those in leadership. Because of our faith we walk circumspectly, with the Word as our guide and with Yeshua as our model.

The experience of being a participant in the Knock and Talk outreach in Montreal has been a huge blessing to me in that I realize what a privilege the Lord has bestowed upon me to be part of bringing His word, through the Tanakh and Brit Chadasha to the Jewish people in all different walks of life. I have personally met rabbis, observant Jews, poor or disinterested men and women who are thankful, fearful, knowledgeable, or ignorant about His Word. This made something stand out to me; we as humans are all alike at various times in our life. We all deserve a second chance and by receiving our Saviour, our Messiah, we become a new creation capable of great things because of Who lives within us. In all circumstances, I was thankful because as I stood at a doorstep and prayed over the household or apartment, I knew I was leaving an imaginary “red cord”… a symbol of a life line. I imagined this cord to be taken up or grasped in a time of need, sorrow, curiosity or intrigue, but always making or leaving a forever mark on their lives.

I will not forget one woman in particular we visited who was bound to her bed because of ill health. She invited us in with a shout so I entered and sat on the edge of her bed. She was so happy to receive her Bible gift set that her caregiver had passed over to her. We talked about the Word of God being alive and how the Messiah had come and was going to return. She said she knew about that saying as her caregiver had tried to explain many times before, but that day she wanted to know more. I was so happy to see her eagerness to learn but unfortunately we had to leave to meet up with our group. We could have spent hours there but she promised that she would search for this Messiah who had already come.

How precious were the words of this woman and what a blessing to us. These are the moments which make up for the times when people rejected this gift. As it is written in Nehemiah 9: 29-31, “… and they shrugged their shoulders, stiffened their necks and would not hear. Yet for many years You had patience with them… Nevertheless in Your great mercy You did not utterly consume them nor forsake them, for You are God, gracious and merciful”.

As of today, many have received these gifts of God’s words and I am encouraged each time I go out that hearts are opened and eyes do see and receive Yeshua.
